These are likely to be broken shards of china dishes which were broken up to make the Kirtland temple plaster (Dark and Blue--- notice a coulple shards of blue glass... one may be more recent vintage but the sample of finnished plaster on display at the Independence museum showed very fine particles, not these big hunks
Makes a fine crunchy sound when rubbed or snaped
